The Great Upheaval
Friday, November 18, 2016
An evening with Revels Artistic Director Paddy Swanson who will share some of the research that went into this year’s Acadian-Cajun Christmas Revels. He will trace the origins of Le Grand Dérangement - the expulsion of the Acadians from Nova Scotia and their subsequent migrations that eventually led to Louisiana where the Acadian culture morphed into Cajun.
Richly illustrated with images and music this is a primer for Revels goers who like a deeper experience of the cultures that we celebrate.
