13th Annual Revels RiverSing
Sunday, September 18, 2016
Co-hosted by Revels music director Megan Henderson & David Coffin, songleader
Join thousands of voices in song as Revels waves goodbye to summer and welcomes in the fall at this FREE family-friendly Autumnal Equinox celebration taking place in Harvard Square and along the Charles River in Cambridge. Enjoy pre-show festivities, a puppet-filled parade and communal singing with The Revels Chorus, guest soloists, and a fabulous folk band.
We're keeping a close eye on the weather. Check here on Sunday for status updates. Should we need to cancel RiverSing, we will announce it here.
Words to all of the songs we'll be singing will be provided in the RiverSing program, available at the event. However, you are welcome to download a copy of the lyrics here.
Co-hosted by Revels songleader David Coffin and music director Megan Henderson, Revels RiverSing is a unique theatrical event filled with music and songs celebrating the season and the splendor of the Charles River and its parklands. A growing annual tradition, RiverSing features over 100 performers but the real stars of RiverSing are YOU! (Lyrics will be printed in the program and available online). Atmospheric as well as joyful, RiverSing also offers seasonal poetry readings, acrobats and circus performers, plus the magical illuminated butterflies of Gabriel Q. A wondrous spectacle filled with simple pleasures, Revels RiverSing is a terrific community event the whole family can enjoy!
There will be a program with lyrics available at RiverSing, but you can also download them here in September. In addition to the traditional musical favorites, expect some new twists to this year's Equinox celebration!
