Research for the 2004 Christmas Revels
The fund underwrote an excursion to Quebec to gather material for the 2004 Christmas Revels. Artistic and music directors, Patrick Swanson and George Emlen, and Revels dance choreographer Judy Erickson spent time with Pierre Chatrand and members of Dance Cadence visiting historic places and absorbing Quebecois traditions.

A Free Summer Revels in Boston

The fund helped realize Revels vision of moving the Summer Revels production from the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln to downtown Boston. In partnership with Boston Children's Museum, the show has drawn a widely diverse audience as well as performing groups that present dances and music from the traditional cultures that make up Boston's constituency.

Revels Repertory Comany (formerly Circle of Song), Revels Touring Ensemble

The fund provided the seed money to launch Revels touring ensemble, Revels Repertory Company. For five years, the fund supported the ensemble as it developed its programming, created its ensemble, and developed marketing materials. Read more about Revels Rep's programming.

Noyes Fludde

"...the fine orchestra, cast and huge chorus of children delivered a triumphantly joyous performance of Britten's loving setting of the old English miracle play that depicts God's deliverance of Noah, his family and the animals...This wasn't just the kind of great family entertainment we expect from Revels. This was great opera, pure and simple," wrote The Boston Herald of Revels 2004 production of Benjamin Britten's Noyes Fludde.
Over 100 children represented ark animals, the orchestra was comprised of professional and teenage musicians, and God was portrayed by John Langstaff. Under the leadership of music director, George Emlen and stage director, Patrick Swanson, the production was, by all standards, a tremendous success.
