Join the Revels RiverSing Chorus
If you would like to be part of a chorus that leads the singing at Revels' annual welcome to autumn, then join us on Sunday, September 17, near the Weeks Bridge on the bank of the Charles RIver, for the 14th annual Revels RiverSing, celebrating the first day of fall and the beauty of the Charles River and its parklands.
All are welcome in our adult chorus, including children accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also singing.
Revels RiverSing Chorus Registration
Calling all choral singers! Revels invites you to join a 100-voice chorus near the Weeks Bridge on Sunday, September 17, for the 14th annual Revels RiverSing, celebrating the first day of fall and the beauty of the Charles River and its parklands.
Revels and Charles River Conservancy established RiverSing in 2004 as a new Boston area family tradition marking the autumnal equinox with singing. A large chorus, joined by soloists, a band, and a youth chorus will lead an audience of thousands of singers on the Cambridge bank of the river in familiar songs as the sun sets on the last day of summer. Memorial Drive is closed, so the feeling is relaxed and joyful. Many families bring picnic suppers to enjoy the late summer evening. The scene is magical.
Anyone who has sung in a chorus – in school, a faith community, or a local performing group - is invited to join the Revels RiverSing chorus and be a part of this celebration of fall. Please note, though we have a separate youth chorus, children are welcome to sing with parents/guardians in the adult chorus.
If you are interested in joining, you will need to:
- Register online to sing TBA If you any questions please notify Revels Production Manager, Lynda Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617.972.8300 x35. If you are currently a member of an organized chorus, please mention your chorus affiliation (though you need not be a member of a chorus). You will be able to download the words of the songs later this summer, with chords indicated.
- Come to one rehearsal on Thursday, September 14, at Grace Vision Church, Watertown, from 7 to 9:30 pm, to go over all the songs on the list with soloists and band, to become familiar with (and agree upon!) keys, tempos, versions, structures, words and harmonies. This will be a fun, social time, with the emphasis on improvising harmonies to the chords given. Revels will supply refreshments.
Downloadable instructions and schedule for the day. Coming
