School Performance
$800; $1,250 for two same-day performances at the same location

Revels Repertory Company (formerly Circle of Song) is available on Friday mornings to present three different assembly programs appropriate for upper elementary and middle school students. Each 40-minute music theater presentation includes 8 or 9 children from your school who are selected and prepared in advance by the school's music teacher using materials provided by Revels. The children rehearse with the ensemble for an hour on the day of performance. In addition to these students' participation, there are several opportunities for the entire audience to sing along during the program.

A Celebration of the Sea
Grades 3-6

On the docks of 19th century New Bedford, hawkers sell their wares, and sailors pack their trunks and say goodbye to friends and family. Their songs and stories tell of their adventures including a whale hunt and a storm at sea. When they return, the entire community takes part in the celebration.

Free lesson plans designed to coordinate with A Celebration of the Sea are coming soon. The lessons fulfill goals and objectives from the Grade 3 Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in History/Social Science, English Language Arts, and Mathematics. An annotated bibliography is also included.
...Like no other theater experience - their rich singing, dancing and storytelling make everyone smile.

An American Journey
Grades 3-6

In the early 20th century, successive waves of immigrants came to the United States through Ellis Island and eventually to Boston. The program recreates a voyage where Irish, Italians, and Eastern European Jews share their stories, songs, and dances. A soup pot is brought out and ingredients for a meal are produced—may the pot never rust!

Free lesson plans designed to coordinate with An American Journey may be downloaded. The lessons fulfill goals and objectives from the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in History/Social Science and Mathematics. An annotated bibliography is also included.

Terrific program – one of the best I’ve seen. It really brought to life the experience of immigration.

There’s a Meeting Here Tonight! recreates a reunion after the Civil War where the family gathers to reminisce about their experiences. They invite the great showman P.T. Barnum who serves as master of ceremonies, and Frederick Douglass who presents one of his famous speeches about emancipation.
